MONTCREST BOARD OF GOVERNORS

The Montcrest Board of Governors is a diverse group of professionals sharing a common interest in the school and the type of education that it offers. They meet regularly throughout the year and attend the various social functions to keep in touch with the school.  Most of them are either current or former Montcrest parents who are very familiar with the school.  A mix of both men and women serve to provide a balance of expertise, viewpoint and experience.  The members serve on one or more committees depending on their interests. In addition, outside advisors often serve, making an important contribution, and our Head of School serves ex officio.

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

The Montcrest Community includes parents, teachers, students, administrators, board members and alumni who work together to support the goals and initiatives of the school. All parents of current Montcrest students are members of the Parents Association.

The M.P.A. is an integral part of life at Montcrest supporting and enriching our school community by organizing our annual Fall Fair, the lunch program, Monty's Cupboard (our school store), social activities such as class cocktail parties, our biannual fundraising dinner/auction and much more!  At monthly meetings, ideas are discussed and action plans made.

CONTRIBUTIONS

Tuition fees cover the projected basic operating expenses of the school, staff and faculty salaries and benefits, supplies, equipment and basic plant maintenance.

Our Annual Giving Program provides an opportunity for parents, grandparents, faculty, alumni/ae and friends to help enhance our programs and school facilities.  As an independent school we rely on the parents generous donations over and above tuition each year.

Periodically the Principal and Board of Governors will identify building projects or programs that require extensive funding to implement and therefore will embark on a Capital Campaign.

Major gifts to these projects may be pledged over a number of years.

Tax receipts will be issued for all cash donations.

The Parents Association raises funds for various enhancements needed throughout the school.  Families support such in-school initiatives as hot lunches, the school store, a Fall Fair and a biannual Auction.

Members of our extended Montcrest community play a fundamental role by contributing their skills, time and financial support in order to ensure the continuing excellence of Montcrest School.
