50th Anniversary

Montcrest School celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2011 with several events.

In May 2011 Montcrest's 50th Anniversary 'Kicked Off' with Alumni Pub Night and a special Kite Day 50th Presentation!

Then in October 2011 a special Homecoming Reunion Weekend was held.

On Friday afternoon students ran the Montcrest Mini-Marathon with a full compliment of family and friends cheering them on, including Mr. Jess Poland, the teacher who began the Mini-Marathon 33 years ago!

On Saturday we hosted a Homecoming Day for Montcrest alumni and families - a day filled with activities and opportunities to reflect back on Montcrest of the past 50 years. We were honoured to see many old friends, particularly former Head of School and Principals including Mr Steve Beatty, Mrs Elaine Danson, Mr. Graham Hookey, Mrs. Katherine Livingston, and from the January School, Mrs. Carol Atkinson. The evening program included a performance by Montcrest alumnus, Emilie-Claire Barlow.

Montcrest's Community Garden was officially opened at our 50th Homecoming Reunion. Head of School, Mr. David Thompson cut the ribbon to open the gate at the back of 664 Broadview!

Sunday’s Fall Fair was an amazing event hosted and enjoyed by Montcrest families, and the perfect finish to our 50th Anniversary Homecoming Reunion Weekend.
